Moisture Protection Measures For Screws

Iron screws are prone to rusting in humid environments. To prevent rusting, screws need to be protected from moisture.

The methods for protecting screws from moisture are as follows:

(1) For vibrating machinery, use solvent-free paint whenever possible.

(2) It is best to choose impregnating paints that do not contain oxidizing components, such as epoxy-urethane-based or unmodified epoxy-based impregnating paints.

(3) When using cyanuric acid impregnating paint, the curing temperature and curing time should be adjusted. The curing temperature should be slightly higher than 130℃ (e.g., 135℃) and the curing time should be greater than 180 minutes. The process must be strictly followed, especially in hot and humid seasons. From a rust prevention perspective, the drying (curing) time specified in the paint manufacturer's sample may not be sufficient, and the motor has specific internal characteristics.

(4) Use paints that do not contain volatile acids.

(5) Choose paints with good hydrolysis resistance.
